What are growth hormone peptides?

The pituitary releases growth hormone in pulses, and two signals control those pulses. GHRH from the hypothalamus tells it to release more, and ghrelin acting on the GHS-R1a receptor amplifies each pulse. Peptides that hit one or both are called growth hormone secretagogues.

Sermorelin is the first 29 amino acids of human GHRH. CJC-1295 no DAC, also called modified GRF 1-29, swaps four amino acids so it resists breakdown. Tesamorelin adds a fatty acid group to the full 44-amino-acid GHRH and is an approved drug in the US. Ipamorelin is the most selective of the ghrelin-mimicking peptides, with little effect on cortisol or prolactin in animal work.
